During this period, South Sinai Governorate witnessed a remarkable achievement in electricity projects, where electricity projects extended to Bedouin settlements and villages, connecting them to cities, reinforcing networks, connecting electricity between cities and rugged roads, and ending the isolation of the people of South Sinai. The residents of those villages and Bedouin settlements used to receive electricity for only 4 hours until the electricity problem was solved with real projects that achieved a breakthrough in the governorate. The Egyptian government has invested billions of Egyptian pounds in electricity network development in South Sinai since July 2014, including the construction and upgrade of high voltage substations in Minya, South Sinai, Sharqia, Port Said, and Asyut Governorates in Egypt
